Consular Outreach in San Ramon (Alajuela)

The Consular Section at U.S.  Embassy San Jose is pleased to announce a Consular Outreach event in San Ramon later this month.  Embassy staff will be available to accept adult passport renewals and to perform notarial services.

WHEN: Thursday, June 25, 2015 11:30-12:30 and 2:00-3:00

WHERE: COOPENAE Bank, San Ramon de Alajuela (50 meters north of the Tribunales de Justicia)

Passport Renewals: To be eligible, you must present a 10-year passport that is valid or expired less than 5 years ago.  (No lost or stolen passports, no minor passports.)  You will need to submit a DS-82 form (PDF 84 KB) and a 2”-by-2” passport photo with a light-colored background.  The price is 60,000 colones.

Notarial Services: The presence of the person requesting the notary and legal proof of identity are required.  The price is 27,200 colones per seal.

All payments must be in cash.  Exact change is greatly appreciated.  Sorry, we can’t take dollars.

We will also accept applications for replacement Social Security cards, and will have informational material on Federal Benefits for Veterans, Dependents, and Survivors.
