Costa Rican Applicants for U.S. Student Visas Exempted from $43 Visa Reciprocity Fee

Applying for a U.S. student visa just got a little more affordable. The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in San Jose secured a waiver of the $43 reciprocity fee previously required in addition to the application fee for Costa Ricans applying for an F student visa. Costa Ricans who wish to apply for an F visa to study in the United States must only pay the $185 visa processing fee.

The exemption benefits those who wish to pursue full-time international academic studies under an F visa.  This can be primary, secondary, or university studies in a private school, seminary, conservatory, or other academic institutions, including language training programs.

All other visa fees remain unchanged.
