English Teachers Commit to Improve English Teaching in Costa Rica

The National Conference of English Teachers took place at the BNC auditorium.

More than 300 teachers participated in the National Conference of English Teachers that this year focused on skills to inspire young English students from the 21st century, topic that was selected to support the new English program for Costa Rican public schools.

U.S. Cultural Affairs Officer Merlyn Schultz attended the event with two English teaching specialists from the Fulbright Program, Margaret Burke y Jeri Howell.

Several workshops were conducted during the conference; including the ones that Joan Kan Shin and JoAnn Crandall from the National Geographic Learning, with the purpose of supporting English teachers’ preparation to implement the new English program that was developed with the support of the U.S. Embassy and the Peace Corps.
