The U.S. Embassy is aware of the importance of sports to generate a real and longstanding change in lives of those practicing them.
In order to support young Costa Ricans to work as a tem, solve conflicts and develop their communication skills, we developed the program Play like a Girl with which we reached more than 500 adolescents from Talamanca and San Jose.
This program was created to strengthen cultural values and social skills, promote leadership and empower women.

Our special invitees were U.S. soccer players Amanda Cromwell and Kacey White, and our partners were the Saprissa Foundation and Spirit of America that donated the soccer balls.
