The United States Donates Medical Supplies to Costa Rica

The U.S. Embassy donated medical supplies to the National Emergencies Committee (CNE) through the U.S. Southern Command Humanitarian Assistance Program.

The donation includes:

  • 40,300 surgical masks
  • 6,700 N95 masks
  • 6,000 face shields
  • 165 portable hand washing stations
  • 16 field tents for 16 people
  • 10 field tents for 40 people.

U.S. Ambassador Sharon Day said that this donation demonstrates U.S. support to Costa Rica in fighting the world pandemic. “I have no doubt that the United States and Costa Rica will persevere because together we have, together we can, and together we will overcome every hardship,” stated Ambassador Day.

This donation to CNE is valued at USD 588,000. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the United States Embassy has donated more than USD 2 million to Costa Rica.
