U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Marcos Mandojana highlighted the importance of education for any nation. “This donation will keep students and professors safe as they return to their classrooms. Implementing good sanitary practices helps minimize the potential for transmission of Covid-19, or any illness.”

Through its Humanitarian Assistance Program, ODR has donated 1,560 handwashing stations to 15 MEP educational areas that benefit more than 65,000 students and their professors.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the United States has donated more than 4 million dollars to Costa Rican social security for the reduction of Covid-19 contagion risks.
