Costa Rican Talent Travels to the United States

Global Undergraduate Exchange Program

Thanks to the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGrad), five students from Costa Rican public universities will study one academic semester at a higher education institution in the United States.

They will participate in pre-academic English language training, academic coursework, service learning opportunities, professional development workshops, and cultural enrichment activities; and will be required to participate in a minimum of twenty hours of community service activities during the program.

U.S. Ambassador Sharon Day talked with these five students and offered them more details about the program, at the same time she wished them many successes during their experience.

UGrad 2017 alumni shared with the new scholarship holders their academic, cultural and general experience living on campus with U.S. peers.

Since 2008, 78 Costa Ricans have participated in the UGrad Program.
